The thing is I want to buy one your chicks that hatch but I don't have s lot of room in my i could proubly fit him/her in the coop after i get a silkie but my husben won't let me debeack my hens and we have gotten to connected to trade them out I don't know what to do I want those heritage

Debeak your hens! what about using pinless peepers for a pecking problem?

I am a huge fan of pinless peepers - no harm to the hens and you can take off and put on as needed. Completely resolved my feather-plucking issue. They are cheap through nationalband.com.

Trim the beak, not de-beak.

Had a similar thing on that Yahoo group I belong to.

I would never de-beak a chicken.

My newest babies!

What I'm pretty sure is a Blue Sumatra.

My first Platinum.

I also have 8 more Sumatra eggs going into the incubator tonight, 3 of my own and 5 that I purchased from an EBAY. Any chicks that hatch from the EBAY eggs will be Khaki Sumatras. This is the second time I have tried hatching these eggs, the first set I were all clear when I candled on day 18, the seller was very understanding and shipped me these eggs free! Here's to hoping for development!

Kim, I was really upset when I candled and they were all clear.

When the seller offered to reship eggs though I couldn't pass up the chance. All I need is 1 baby to hatch, then I'll be set!
