I'm good for a spring meet up. Friday's are best for me as my kids are in school. I may be able to do a Saturday. I'm out of town March 9 & 10, and I have eggs in the bator that are due to start pipping on the 8th. I think other than that I'm good. If the weather stays nice I'd be happy to cohost here in Concord. If it's here and others want to bring their kids that would be fine.
 
Hello from Hayward! We have had our flock of 4 for 2 years and after a long awaited run rebuild we just expanded our flock by 4 more today. I forgot how tiny my hens once were! We have a plymouth-rock, black australorp, black sex link, and a golden laced Wyandotte.. Today we just picked up some day old chicks, a buff Orpington, 2 Cochins, and a brahma. I have been so excited about getting an Orpington and cochins sounds like people love them, I'm sure I will too! The gentleman and the feed store seemed to think brahmas were really great also, and since they didn't have a Delaware that I was looking for I thought I'd give this breed a shot! Nice to see some other east bayers! Shout out to my peeps!:lol:
 
Welcome Hayward. My Cochins and Brahma's are my favorite girls....I adore them. Right now one is asleep in a milk crate in my room...

Chicken Vet? Hi guys went out today and Dixie Chick [my favorite brahma] was limping. Watched her for awhile and as the afternoon went on the limp got worse instead of better.

I have her in the house with me in a milk crate with access to food and water. Doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with the foot, or the leg as far as I can tell......she's eating and drinking [and pooping] normally. But - does anybody know a chicken vet in this area. I have an exotic bird vet that treats my parrots, but I REALLY don't want to pay those fees to find out the ****** bird has a sore muscle.

BTW, Western Farm is supposed to have King Feed back in stock by Monday/Tuesday of this coming week. My girls love their pellet feed !
