50 bucks for cabbage patch things?
That's nuts!
I thought so too!! I was like what the heck! 😂 I think it comes with little figurine things though and I’m pretty sure the GPK things are worth a lot now, oddly, at least the older ones, so maybe that’s why? 😂 still ridiculous though!!!

I don't. I monitored the moisture of the soil and add more water as I feel is necessary. It can help to put a layer of fine gravel on the bottom. For most indoor plants a depth of 8" of soil is the most that is needed.

I check the water needs of my potato plant in a 5 gallon bucket by pressing the back of my hand on the top of the soil. If it feels moist I leave it alone. If it is starting to feel dry, I add water.

Once you have mature plants with fruit on, you will be surprised by how much water they go through in a day. One particular tomato plant I had was going through 3 gallons of water every day.

As far as tomatoes, do not plant an indeterminate variety. Those will get far too big.

I have had good luck growing Romaine lettuce in pots.
Thanks! I do usually put gravel at the bottom of my pots or buckets but recently I kept hearing and reading that its bad to do that. Idk, all I know is I cant grow squat, so I figured I wont put gravel at the bottom of this. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thats usually how I water too, but still manage to over water, or at least thats what I think I keep doing wrong. Whats the definition of insanity? Its me, gardening :lau

Three gallons?!? Yikes. I would never have thought that.
Will the little seed packets say determinate vs indeterminate?

I think I have about 8”, maybe just a touch more.

Brought some party music :lau even though the party’s technically over. Close enough. 😂🤣
