Thanks! I do usually put gravel at the bottom of my pots or buckets but recently I kept hearing and reading that its bad to do that. Idk, all I know is I cant grow squat, so I figured I wont put gravel at the bottom of this. Thats usually how I water too, but still manage to over water, or at least thats what I think I keep doing wrong. Whats the definition of insanity? Its me, gardening

Will the little seed packets say determinate vs indeterminate?

I think I have about 8”, maybe just a touch more.

Tomato seeds from any reputable supplier will say determinate or indeterminate on the package. The Gold Nugget cherry tomatoes that I grow are determinate and do well in a large pot. The Black Cherry tomatoes that I grow are indeterminate and would not do well in a pot.

Ah! Right. I have seen them labeled as “container” plants, but usually dont see the other two words on those store bought seed packets.
