O.K. you know there's a catch. My flock of BC Marans are from Jesse Bryant's line. I've subsequently bought all of Jesse's birds (the parent stock) and am now selling eggs and chicks from the parent stock (Jesse's birds). So, I've turned my original BC Marans flock loose and they have gone back to freeranging. So there is the possibility that another roo could get to one of the females but so far the two BCM roos are doing a great job of keeping their girls way off to one side of the farm and chasing off any roo that dares come close. So, you may get a "surprise". But at $10 per dozen plus $10 shipping it's worth the risk. Also, one final warning. The last batch of their eggs that I put in bator had some, less than half, that were not fertile or at least did not develop. But, I had held them a couple of weeks and it has been so hot here and such a long drought. I turned the Marans loose because of the heat and because they had started eating their own eggs. Now that they are free again, they are much happier and I'm back to getting a half dozen eggs a day from the seven girls.
So if you want a great deal on BC Marans eggs and are willing to risk surprises Paypal is [email protected] $20 total.
Here's some of the parents:
Here's some of their eggs and chicks hatching:
And here they are back to doing what they love to do - freerange:
They have been freeranging for a little over a week.
