BCM 7 weeks old

This bird has me on the fence. I feel like it's comb and waddles are big. But sometimes it looks quite red and other times much more pale. Turns 7 weeks old tomorrow. I'm not seeing red wing bars but maybe I'm missing it?

At 7 weeks, I would think this to be a cockerel, but I'm not familiar with how Marans mature.

Thanks for your input! I've never had them either so I'm not sure. I had 3. 1 obvious female, 1 obvious (from 2 weeks lol) male that I already rehomed. And this one is just kind of in between those 2.

Pullet. Mine tricked me at 4 weeks old. Had a big reddish comb for a long time.

pullet when I raised my Marans at one point I thought I had all roosters they get big combs and waddles early on but judging by the lack of wing coloring and saddle feathers looks like a hen to me

Excuse the muddy mess guys. We have had 18 plus inches of rain over the last week . I had to save my younger batch of chicks from drowning with the flash flooding.
He/she certainly has me confused.That face gets pretty pale but those waddles are huge. Thanks for all the input!
