I raised chickens when I was younger, but 35 years later I want to try again ! I cant remember what I did when I was younger. so Its like I am new at it. Also alot have changed they way people try to make it better to hatch them. I failed my first batch, because the temp. went up too high.
( I think it went up when My house heater came on) Today I am trying again, my daughter thinks I am nuts for worrying too much !!!
bikerchic I absolutly agree...I was just giving the general info...but mine cant handle that hot either! no pasty butt yet but if they sleep and sprawl out and are quiet then I know I have it right! They dont like to be hot! I am not sure why they say they should be so hot!!!I saw you sig line....DO YOU sell eggs too? you have some cool chickens too! SEE?!SEE?! I can't stop myself !
My little bcms There are only two...ALL the other eggs are quiet and no pips, today was the hatch day....it makes me sad! I HAVE to eggtopsy the eggs since if I dont I wont learn how to tell and compare with what I thought about these durn DARK eggs all along but I sure dont, look forward to it....ALSO one of our little bantams is dying. very sad.
