Each flock and set up will be different.
It only bad if it isn't working for YOU. If you are seeing lots of feather loss, bullying, or disease... yep that's bad. If every one seems well and get along pretty good with no ammonia smell build up... then what's the issue? What works for some may not work for others. The
suggested guidelines are in part to help us as keepers to appropriately maintain things a bit
easier.
Please note... for many of us, a "bigger" coop just means more room for chicken math!
