Beak Abscess? Please help.

I don't think that looks like canker. It's Some kind of infection that's causing necrosis.
After a quick search for 'beak necrosis in chickens', it appears this may be the best diagnosis. According to thepoultrysite.com, this is commonly caused by fine mesh feeds, which is what my hens eat. It also says that medication is usually not needed, just sanitation of drinking water. But, her issue is not getting any better. Now I need to find out how to treat necrosis.

Do you mean mash? Do you mix your mash powdered feed with water? WE can't get mash feed here anymore, unless it's chick feed.
If I were you, I might try getting some oxine. and put a few drops in the drinking water. That might help. Oxine is pricey but very powerful, ten times more so than bleach, so a little goes a long way. You might even try mixing an eighth cup of oxine in a gallon of water and dropping a few drops on the necrotic part of her beak. Here I'm just guessing at proportions and everything else, but Oxine is the best and most powerful disinfectant that I know of.

Yes I mean mash. Local stores have 20% protein layer mash. I don't mix it with water. I actually just bought some crumbles I mixed with the mash.

As far as the medicine, I'm thinking of putting my API General Cure (Metronidazole and Praziquantel) in my 7 gallon water tank that all the hens drink from. I imagine it won't be a problem feeding it to all of them. May be a good idea if any of the others have any bacteria. What say yall?
