So my dog just went after my duck and managed to bite the edge of his beak.. it is bleeding but I was able to put pressure on it and it seems to have stopped for the most part. Are there any concerns for this injury or will it heal on its own? Should I put anything on it? Was thinking of adding apple cider vinegar to his water so he can dunk his beak in but concerned it may burn :( This poor guy can’t catch a break! He doesn’t seem phased by it at all, he was just happily eating his peas from my hand.
In all fairness he likes to taunt my dogs and they are never left unattended, but my two dogs were playing rough and popcorn tried to get involved and Taco retaliated. Normally he just sulks away from him but I think he was caught up in the moment.. as you can see he feels very sorry for himself as he knows he was wrong and is hiding under the bed :lau

The first this you need to do is con it with peroxide...since dog bites carry such germs...I personally know ducks hate the taste and smell of Neosporin...so.. I would probably go win sray of Blukote..but @Miss Lydia ...she’ll know

Thank you guys :) I had a minor panic at first, but now that he’s rinsed it off in his water it doesn’t look bad at all! I feel bad more than anything, but he doesn’t seem to care at all!

What a cutie.:love When my gander stuck a hole in his bill (I never did find out how he did it). I put ACV into my flocks water a couple times a week and I believe it helped with healing. So up to you if you use it but is also a great tonic for us and our birds.

Thank you :D I add it to his water occasionally too just to give his immune system a boost once in a while so thought it might help externally too and keep the wound clean! I’ve used acv to cure an ear infection in my dogs ear so I’ve definitely seen the healing benefits of it!
