Beak fungal infection

Update:
USPS delivered the meds to the wrong address, so I'm still waiting. Chicken has had no meds yet.
Today I bought a medicine at an aquarium/fish store. It's called Metroplex. It's 70% metronizadal & 30% excipients. What are excipients?
Do you think this will be safe for my hen? I'm pretty desperate to get some meds in her.
I'm going to weigh out 46 mg (23 mg per lb, assuming she's only 2lb right now).
Any feedback is appreciated!!

Excipients are things added to medicines as stablizers and things that may help absorbtion, as well as having other properties. I only saw where it contained 70% metronidazole, so I cannot help with dosage of that product, but it sounds like it would be fine to use if the mg are listed on your label.

If the product you bought is 70% metronidazole that means that each gram (1000 mg) contains 700 mg metronidazole and 300 mg of "stuff". Did you buy the 5 gram product?

My friend who is a vet said that if you medicate a hen for Trich you can never eat her eggs afterwards. Has anyone else heard that before?

If my math is right, I need .065 grams of the med for her, guessing she weighs 2 lbs. Maybe my neighbor has a scale.
Your math is good! 0.065 grams has 45.5 mg metronidazole. Another option would be to add some amount of water to the entire 5 grams. Then do more math.
