Beak Problem

Thanks to everyone that responded to my post. I thought I would bump my own post up just this once to see if I can catch someone with additional advice. I am re-attaching the photos, hopefully larger and easier to see. I am technology challenged and dependent on my 16 year old daughter for help.

It is my understanding that crossbeaks are actually a skull deformity. They don't grow out of something like that. I used to have 1 with a mild case, she was a micro sized serama that lived over 2 years. The OP's bird doesn't look like she has a crossbeak at all, it almost looks like her jaw is stuck open. Have you looked down her throat to see if there is anything lodged back there that may be causing this?

No didn't think to look down her throat, but I will tomorrow. She seem to drink OK, but has a tough time eating, has to work at it harder. I don't have any experience with cross beak. I didn't notice anything wrong with her the first five weeks and don't think it has gotten worse over the last few weeks. Can a bird who beak is aligned at 10 week still develop cross beak as it matures?

Could crossbeak be caused from vitamin deficiency?

I have two. The first started early. The second started abotu the same time the first one did but this chick is 2 months older. It's odd it started about the same time even though the birds are 2 months apart. ?? I also kept forgetting to add vitamins to the water.

Thoughts?
