Beakers is almost 8 months now!!! He is loosing weight though, he was eating on his own for a few months and doing good. This past month he’s not eating on his own, so I’ve been feeding him high protein stuff to put some weight back on him but it don’t seem to be working. I’ve tried egg, oatmeal, peanut butter and mealworm, scratch or feed sandwich. What can I do to put some weight back on him? He doesn’t even hold his tail up anymore, it droops down!! PLEASE, any and all suggestions is very much appreciated!!!

Poor little Beakers. Unfortunately there may be something else wrong with him. Sounds like you are doing all you can for him. I don't know if @Eggcessive , or @Wyorp Rock have any suggestions or not, hopefully they will help out. He's lucky to have someone like you looking out for him.

Have you wormed your flock, or taken some of Beaker’s poop in to a vet to get a fecal test done? Is he actively trying to eat, and just not getting it, or is he eating plenty and still losing weight? Worms, coccidiosis, or an illness might be a problem. He has one of the most severe cross beak problems, and it might require different method to get hime to survive. Tube feeding is a possibility, but I would treat for worms with Valbazen or SafeGuard , then watch him eating to see if there is something else going on.

I am feeding him breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I make sure his crop is full after each meal and empty before feeding. I just started this about 2 weeks ago. He doesn’t act sick, and he is anxious to eat when I bring him in.
