Beaks

I just purchased a couple of Red Sexlink hens and didn't notice that one of theyre upper beaks is is shorter than theyre lower. Can that be a problem?
Where did you get them...chicks or older birds?
Probably had their beaks 'clipped' or 'debeaked'.
Commercial birds often have this done to keep them from eating their coop mates in crowded conditions.
As long as they can eat they'll be fine.

Theyre about 4 1/2 months old and haven't started laying, yet. I bought them from a Poultry Farm outside San Antonio, Tx.

That was what I was thinking. I've usually just hatched my own chickens, but I did notice my relatives' hens all had this.
Their beaks will grow back.
