I was going to carve a mini one tonight but my dad stopped me. I guess he thought I would end up cutting my finger off.... I don't remember them being this hard ever! When I was like 8 or 9 I carved a mini one all by my self, now they're hard I couldn't even use a hammer to get the knife in!

I love getting the guts out! I just use my hands. What do you use?

My hands with gloves that were too big for me and both my sisters that I was doing it with. Also a scooper that came with the pumpkin cutting kit that only worked for getting seeds out. It started raining though so we had to stop before I was done but my sisters were already done. So guess what I will be doing tomorrow... I will probably use a spoon though cause Margo(one of the sisters that was doing it with me) was using a spoon to get the guts out.

I think what I am going to carve on mine is just going to be one of those stencil things from the carving kit.

I think I will try to do a chicken, but I may not be able to if the big ones are super hard too!
