Bean's Random Ramblings!

Oh. Are you planning on putting some eggs under her?

So, you encouraged her to go broody?
Possibly, but we don’t know for sure yet. Either way, we would need to make sure she’s serious about it. We don’t want to give her eggs before she’s ready.

You can’t really encourage a hen to go broody. They do it on their own, and they won’t stop until you either give them eggs or break their broodiness. She’s got it handled. She knows what she’s doing.

Gotcha. I would never break a broody, but that’s just me :)

Technically you could leave eggs out to encourage broodiness, but it is caused by hormones. Some birds will go broody on NOTHING, like my Lacey.

Good luck Margo! I miss chicks!!
