Bear killing bunnies !! Can we shoot it ?

I expect that that is part or even most of the tracking, but is almost certainly only a small percentage of the overall bear population. I would expect that every bear who has been relocated for inappropriate behavior would have a tracking, or at least ID chip. As for it actually being a problem bear, that is merely speculation.

Sounds like the bear may have wandered off into other pastures anyway. Personally, I think any bear that is bold enough to encroach this close to human dwelling is going to be a problem in the near future. There is plenty of food about this time of year in it's usual habitat. We have many, many bear around here and they don't usually come anywhere near dwellings unless they are starving or have an easy food source. We raise min-rex rabbits and have their hutches inside another fence, largely becasue of feral dogs. I doubt a bear would be unable to rip though the fencing and hutches. I know what would happen to the bear if it did.
Tracking collars are pretty easy to spot. I am unaware of a "tracking chip"
Do what you feel is legal in your area, but if you have children in the area, a bear that is coming around a human dwelling to feed is not a safe thing.
