I was just at bear world in Idaho falls for the first time since I got chickens, and I noticed some things. The chickens and ducks are abused. Three are blind, most of them have bumblefoot, the ducks are overmated, and they’re starved. They only get food from the people who pay for a handful, besides the grass. All of the cockerels and dons hens are plucked on their neck, some are even missing their tail, they where letting the hens eat them. I read about this once, it’s because of malnutrition. It’s midsummer, they only collect eggs once a day, and there where only two eggs. Most of the chickens have bumblefoot, and only one employee knows anything. Even then, it was obvious he didn’t know much. I’m not sure why three are blind, but I’m not going to my birds without washing my clothes. I’m worried about ocular mareks. Most of the females are missing all of their neck and head feathers from over mating. They didn’t have a pond, just a little stream that’s not deep enough for them to swim in. The only thing well taken care of is the peahens. I’m furious, and I can’t do anything about it. Is there anything I can do except a bad review on yelp?

Ugh people...this makes me so sad. I’m not sure what you can do. Maybe raise awareness about it so that together maybe people could do something.

You can leave a review on their official Facebook.
If you want to, get an email address from the owner of Bear World and leave a formal email about your concerns. Most places will ignore if it's just hate mail or protests, so try to come across as mature and sophisticated with decent grammar. You might be able to find an "official email address" or something on Bear World's website

Thanks, I’ll do that.
