I received my first order of chicks last week! I've noticed 3 out of the 5 chicks have much fluffier downy looking cheeks where as the other 2 have smooth cheeks. Does this mean they will develop beards/muffs as adults? I hope so! Thanks in advance!

***These are new additions to my flock so any recommendations about introducing polish chickens and when to a mixed breed flock would also be appreciated!

Would have to see pictures to confirm, but yes, it's likely they are bearded. Polish come in bearded and non-bearded varieties. Bearded are more common except in white crested black or white crested blue.
The first picture is the only black one that has a puffy face. Both the buff polish chicks have puffy faces. The last picture is for comparison. That chick has smooth cheeks.
