Bearded or not?

I was wondering if my 6 week old Silkies are bearded or not... Thanks!

Not a silkie expert, but I would say yes. they look like they have beards to me. ether way they are adorable.

As I said, I'm not a Silkie expert, so I could be wrong. I'm used to looking at Easter eggers, and D'uccles.

Well, she has some feathers on her chin that looked like my girl here:



which is what made me think she has a beard....

I think they are bearded, given the cheek feathering and lack of wattles. My young Faverolles go through a period around that age when they look beardless. Non bearded silkies are clean faced and have more wattle showing (pullets included).

This. Silkies that aren't bearded have no feathering under their chin. This is a non bearded silkie:

Note the total lack of feathering on the face.
