    Alaska
Everything about Alaska is big, including our predators. Here's an article about them getting into chickens:

I'd hate to shoot to kill any animal.[IMG] I'd try everything else first, including the strongest electric fence I could afford, bear spray, firecrackers, large dogs, whatever. But, once the bears, wolves, etc... get so hungry in the winter or lose their general fear of humanity in the summer, they will come right up to you and then you must protect yourself and your children.
