My chickens free range during the day letting them out around 11 and they put themselves back in the coop around 5:30 during this part of the winter. My six hens do lay their eggs in different parts of the farm as well as in the coop where I wish they would lay all their eggs...lol. I've had my "flock" around 3 years. Yesterday I saw the most lovely thing that I had never seen before. My rooster was sitting next to my favorite hen cooing or purring next to her while she was laying her egg in some hay right next to the barn wall. I was very moved. I sent a text to my friend who I bought him from...her response...wish I could find a man like that! lol
