OMG! Look at this little one! It was the only one in the bantam bin like it. Feather legged, no shading variations, slate feet, four toes, looks like muffs to me. Our porcelain d'Uccles were last spring were not silver and our OEGB self blue/lavenders were not silver. Thoughts on color and breed?

It's maybe a self blue d'uccle. What feed store did it come from?
TSC. I called last night to ask which hatcheries they use. The guy said, "They come from the post office". OMG! REALLY dude! I asked him to get the manager. She said Hoover (which I knew) and Townline. Townline has only just started their d'Uccles lines this year and only millie fleur and porcelain. Most of their bantams are also new. They look like they do a lot of turkey and duck business.
I am excited to see what he/she turns out to be. A self blue, feather foot anything will make me very happy!

Looking up pictures of d'Uccles and cochins, it has to be a self blue. Neither hatchery has self blue of either breed. Could it be a "throw back" in the breading colors? Now I'm going to have to keep an eye out for more of them in the bantam bins! So beautiful!

Lavender is recessive, so it can sneak in there, yes :) If this one really does have muffs, then it couldn't be a cochin, which is why I went with d'uccle.

We have a Porcelain roo. Do you know what the color results would be if the baby is a she, and mated with the porcelain? Would the babies be self blue, lavender, both?

Self blue and lavender are the same thing :) All babies from such a breeding would be lavender. However, if you then bred those together or back to their father, you'd start getting some interesting things popping out.

Update: little silver baby died today. Didn't act sick. Didn't have poopy butt. Just gone. Three others in the other brooder gone too. One seemed to have something wrong with it's back side and I was constantly washing it. The other two went just like the silver. No reason known. :(
