Okay- As i said , i've NEVER done this before.... I am kicking myself for even getting involved in this without 100% backing!

I have a call into my vet as well but Bee started losing mucus on Friday and nothing yesterday and is losing more today.. today's seems to be a little colored, almost a hay color and i can't be sure because I noticed it after she pee'd . . . temp is 100.1, it did dip as low as 99.3 but hasn't hit 98 yet. we're on day 62 right now so im not that worried, but I'm a little concerned because I thought they lost their mucus plug and then whelped. Hopefully i'm just worrying for nothing. She's in seclusion, in an ex pen with tons of bedding and seems happy to just lay there, she has dug around a bit, but nothing I'd call making a nest... maybe she just likes the way I put the bedding in there for her...... she can hear the other dogs but they don't seem to bother her. she did not eat much yesterday and today she has picked a little bit but otherwise is not interested. I'm watching for fever.

Of COURSE i'd take her to the e-vet if i needed to but I would rather hold out for our own... she's not panting or anything and she has no milk expressible, tho her teats are getting pretty big ( but still pliable and warm, not hard and hot) .

She has been compulsively cleaning her front legs and her back feet, i think she may be going for other areas but can't get her fat body to bend easily so she sticks to the feet.

you know, anyone else around here just throws two dogs together and has litter after litter of pups.... I TRY to do it 'by the book' and nothing seems to be going right. Or maybe I'm just anxious.

Give her some time. You could go as late as day SEVENTY if you did not do ovulation timing. So, keep watching. As long as you are not seeing bloody or dark green discharge, you are probably ok.

Keep taking your temp. It will go to 98 at some point, and she should start within 24 hours of that. Most girls will also refuse a meal or not eat all of it several hours before whelping starts.

I would have her checked. My brothers dog was going to have pus. They waited about 4 days and then took her to the vet. It was to late. They lost all of them. At least you would know for sure that all is ok.

no pups, the vet doesn't feel that they need to see her... if she doesn't have them tonight I will call and get her in tomorrow afternoon... regardless of the vet's opinion my vet will be back anyway as of tomorrow at noon... we're on day 63/64 or day 62/63 depending which breeding actually took. The puppies are active it seems but its hard to tell because she is brindle and darker so you just see little flutters here and there, last night i was taking her temp and i felt all sorts of movement.

No discharge at all except the occasional clear mucus and she's pretty much just sleeping/laying flat out. Temp is hovering in low 99's and mucus membranes look good.

Last night she tore up a comforter a little bit and keeps rearranging her bedding so hopefully we will not need a vet trip at all.

Sounds like she is getting ready, if temps were that low last night, I am betting she will go in to labor today or late tonight.

Occasional clear mucus is normal. Because you have no idea when ovulation happened, you can really have no idea what day she is actually on.

If I were you, I would palpate her several times a day. Lay her on her side. the puppies will feel sort of like a balled up fist. You should be able to find most of them, you probably have 2 to 4 on each side. They should move when you disturb them. Get familiar with where they are, and feel them several times a day. If you have a stethoscope, you can hear the heartbeats if you listen very carefully. It sounds like a watch ticking. Very fast, they are 200 - 240 BPM.

I would watch the temp carefully. If this were my grump I would be doing temp 3X to 4X per day, morning, noon, early evening, before bed.

Keep her on light colored bedding so you will catch any discharge. The first signs are panting and nesting. Good luck!

Good advice given. If you are like me you're just anxious

Now after reading this I can't wait either!!!! Hope you get healthy happy pups and a doting mommy SOON!!!

this diagram might help you to locate puppies. As the puppies get larger and longer, they sort of fold up against each other accordion fashion in the abdominal cavity.

Puppy #1 is always high up on the flank. Other puppies will likely be located 2 to 3 inches above/near each mammary gland.

Yeah, if she has not been under 99, you are not close. She will go waaaaay down right to 98 or very close. You may also observe shivering. Keep a close watch on her.
