Bedding choices aside from shavings and straw?

I am using rubbermaid drawer liner, and it seems to work pretty well, I have two sets and that way i always have a clean set, and it cleans really east, and provides a good grip surface for the chicks,

we use pine shavings for all of our birds.. we clean them every 2 or 3 days so its teh easiest to clean up i think.. it absorbs teh water much better i think.. but teh only problem is teh dust..

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to stick with the pine. I called the manufacturer of this brand and they said they do not use chemicals in the shavings ... they are compressed tightly. That they are white pine.

So, I am going to move the girls into a larger brooder this week.

on the Drawer liner I use the rubbery stuff that looks kinda like netting, and when you over lap it, it stays together so the chicks can't get under your laps. I just put down a layer of fine shavings and then the liner on top.
