Bedding for brooding?

My eggs won’t hatch for another 9-12 days but I still want to be prepared 😅.
I’m hatching quail eggs, and I have a fairly large brooder so I want to find a cheap bedding for my chicks. I’m just wondering what would be the cheapest most durable bedding and where I can find it. Thank you very much!

I used fine/shredded pine chips. farm and feed stores, pet stores, or any store that has a pet department. Prices vary with location so look around. There should be no additives. I've even used clean sand with quail chicks taken from a river bank and sterilized.

Hi there. For quail I like the pine pellets. They're rather stinky birds and the pellets keep down the odor pretty well.
