Bedding for in coop brooder

Pine shavings are great work very well! I used them for my last batch of chicks when they were brooding in my house. They loved it. Pine shavings work so well they will tell you the exact day when the chicks are ready to be moved to the coop. At exactly 7 weeks, when the chicks learn how to make a dust bath and you come home from work to find 1/2” dust on every flat surface in your house, that’s the day the chicks go to the coop.
I will be trying the pellets next year.

Just a thought but the pellets are easy for young chicks to walk on? No rolled legs or rolling around?

I just filled my brooder with freshly hatched chicks. This is my 9th hatch this year. I've never had an issue with the pellets! They walk across them perfectly fine even while they're still wobbly. The pine shavings worked fine as well but I'll never go back!

Ok ok I’m sold! :wee

Off topic - do you sell the chicks you hatch? If so I have some question I’ll PM you if that’s OK.
