Bedding for nesting box!@#$%^&*()(**^%## please help

What should you put in the nesting box to make them comfy? (BTW its for silkies)

We use hay.

They seem to like it a lot.

Yeah I use, Hay,staw, pine shavings.... haha I use all different stuff

In my egglayers layers for eating I use straw. In my breeding pens I use pine shavings. They last a whole lot longer and dry out poo if they poop in the nest boxes. I just use what ever is used on the floor. My egg layer coop is huge and it would take a lot of pine shavings to cover the floor.

I mostly use grass clippings but I have used straw pine shavings and even shreaded junk mail

I only use pine shavings, the biggest problem is those crazy hens pick a fav box and ignore the others, lol!

Coop bedding is pine straw or pine shavings (which ever we have around) and the nest we use pine straw. Keeps odor down, the girls have a hard time kicking it out and it's the basic idea of how a nest looks.
