Bedding for quails??

Also did you try the treatment for splayed legs? I have never had to do it but I've heard it fixes it well and helps them.
No I don't really know how to treat it one leg is fine and one isn't but it gets around fine. Think I worked out why they do it at night I mixed some of the scented shavings with plain and they seemed to stop doing it tonight or they was over hungry I had a feeder I don't think they was getting food out of so I took of the top and left the red bit with the food in cage they ate big dish full with in 20 minutes so I filled it up again and that's nearly gone aswell. They are much better tonight. Thank you for all your help

Thank you I picked up the wrong bedding wasn't sure about using it but they need cleaned but still have good enough bedding in there cage till tomorrow. Okay thanks for that I gave them some meal worms today but I don't think they ate them as they just ran around with them in there mouths. Thank you again
I would provide plain wood shavings. I use fine or flaky pine shavings and it works well. The fine works better at absorbing and it easier to clean for me. I also gave treats at about 2 weeks old. This was how I got then to be more friendly and used to me being around. It's up to you mine are fine and I have a 6 year old and 3 that's are 3 years old.
Concerned about the scent as I've just seen a video where quails are breaking up shavings with their beaks. They could get chemical into their stomachs?

I picked up the wrong wood shavings from the shop instead of plain I picked up lavender scented wood shavings is this okay for there bedding or should I wait for tomorrow till the pet shop opens again? Also when can I start giving meal worms ect to them. Thanks for reading
I wouldn't let them have lavender as it might be chemical. Just seen a video of quail chewing up wood shavings.

Treating splayed legs has to be done when very, very young while the legs are still soft. You are supposed, very gently, to press them back together from the thighs down. I would seek a vet's advice on that one!
