Is there a date on that article? I was told about 3years ago that pretty much all newsprint has gone from carbon based ink to soy based making it completely nontoxic. However it will still discolor lighter animals and newspaper is just not a good bedding no matter how you use it. It's slick, nonabsorbent, and extremely messy.
