Has anyone used the coffee grounds bedding? Is it safe? What about hemp? I can't use the pine shavings anymore. It is hurting my lungs and I have to use so much in our huge brooder. I need something safe with out alll that smell and dust.

I heard from a man in tsc he and his wife used it on Two batches this year of chick's and it work wonderfully for them. I can't take the pine any more. When we were using the small brooder it was ok but now we have to use so much of it in the 6 by 5 brooder and I throw it in and man I can't breathe well after. It's terrible.

I use puppy pads for my brooder. Can't stand the mess of shavings

There have been reports of the coffee ground bedding being toxic to chicks who ate some of it the way chicks do sample their bedding.

My chickens ate the puppy pad plastic. If I could find all cotton ones thenaybe I could use those.

Almost 4 weeks. No not yet. Not fully feathered and it's cold still. And we're not finished yet building. Had some issues and had to hold off building. But we're getting back to it this coming week.

I've heard of sand in the nest boxes, that seems like a good idea to keep feet clean!
