My chickens ate the puppy pad plastic. If I could find all cotton ones thenaybe I could use those.

They carry corn cob, sand, alfalfa, hemp, pellets

Try anything that seems likely. If it doesn't work you can try something else.

I had a chick die from ingesting the coffee ground bedding
It works great for adults on poop boards though.
I currently just changed to alfalfa pellets to see how it goes. I hate pine as well. We did sand after removing the coffee grounds. It was ok, but got stinky quickly.
I can report back on the alfalfa in a few days.
Also, i decided to use a pack n play and crib side for this unexpected batch of chicks.
