Are newspapers fine for the chicks?

newspapers could be slick.an cause the chicks legg probs.id go to the feedstore an get a bagg of litter or shavings to put in their brooder.an put papertowels on top for 2 or 3 days till they learn to eat good.

Newspaper can cause spaddle leg in chicks...they can't get good footing and their legs slip out from under them...Go with paper towels, then add wood shavings under those and finally take the paper towels away around a weeks time....
