Beef Question

It costs me $0.82/lb to run them through USDA inspection, plus $60 slaughter fee.

If you are doing a private treaty, though, you can find farm butchers who'll operate as low as $0.35 per pound hanging weight.
 
I had one slaughtered last spring and it cost me about $0.60lb. but it depends on what u have made out of it burgers, steaks, etc. It cost more if you have the hamburger patties pressed or get it loose. Me I like making mine up myself so I don't get patties. It cost me $40 bucks for the slaughter fee. It all depends where you send it to get it done!
