Beefy Goes to Tractor Supply Store...new update

sometimes it pisses me off the lack of knolege some people have that carry chicks, they should atleast have the breeds separated. ah

Yeah but were they really *purebred* Assorted? It is so hard to chickens that meet the Assorted standard these days. So many of them may *look* assorted, but then they produce offspring that look just like the parents. What is the world coming to!

lol

But that little wink has lingered fondly in your thoughts and that duck mind control has been sending you messages to "come back, come back, come back", lol!!!

Are you gonna tell him those are heavy breed chickens?

So I am getting the impression from you and many others feel that at TS they are just chickens...no one seems to really know what kind? I will pass that along to the manager of the new store that is opening up here...since they will be in competition with 2 other stores selling chicks. I'm going to work in the store when it opens, so I should be able to help, but probably too late for this years batch!

That'll be good Enabling Cheryl!!!! It will probably boost the sales alot to have people more knowledgeable about the chicks, you go girl!!

I liked reading your story beefy. Are you absolutely sure that little duck wasn't in the pocket of your coat when you got home? You better check.

After we left Atwoods the other day (still chick and duckling free

) I mentioned to my SO the big difference I've noticed between Atwoods and TSC. The Atwoods employees are older and more knowledgable than the crew TSC seems to hire; at least at our location. We had a nice long talk with the man working in the poultry department about the benefits of free-ranging. My only gripe was that there was only one gosling left in the stock tank they are using as brooders. Who was the horrible, cold-hearted person that bought some goslings and left that poor little one all by itself?!?

Cheryl, I'm glad someone with knowledge will be working at TSC. That's a good start to educating them.
Oh, and I tried the 'but it's all by itself, it needs a home!' routine with my SO. No go. :|
