Been gone long time/any yokohama lovers out there?

I would love to have some myself. I do have Cubalaya.

Hi All,
This is Cogburn, he's 21 weeks old. I got him in an order of pullets from Ideal. I really like him and want to keep him, so far he's very friendly and nice to the girls. A book I have however, says the males can be aggressive. Can anyone tell me if this is true or what I can expect personality wise as he ages? Or if there are certain breeds they mix well with or not? Thanks, Jen

I only have two hens that are Yokohama X Hatch crosses, but I am breeding for Minohiki-type birds in pea and cushion comb, lots of colors coming up right now.

By the way, that is a nice-looking rooster you have there, Jen.

Jen their are alot of things that can make any breed of rooster aggresive. IMO the majority of roosters in the longtail realm are quite easy going. I've had worse issues with the egg laying roos being freaks. Just remember as with all roosters he's a guy and his job is to take care of his hens. Thats all they want anyways. Good luck with him. I'm hoping to add some solid white yoko's this year.

So what do you like about them? Are they standards or bantams?

They're standards, but on the small side. I believe they roosters only get up to about 6 lbs. I love their gamebird look and their personality is great. They're curious and fearless, they don't run from me when I walk amongst them (I did not have a lot of interaction with them when they were chicks). They co-mingle with the rest of my chickens quite well.

See here for pictures of my Cubalaya: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=18318

I should take some new pictures, they've matured more since then. One thing about them, they are slow maturing but it's worth it to me.
