Bees in quail feed

Don't actually put out sugar water. It's no good for the bees, they can find plenty of nectar themselves. Plus, if the bees are owned by a keeper, he wants his bees to be using nectar to make honey. They can't make proper honey out of sugar water. Just put out regular water, that's the really important stuff for them. Sugar water is good as an energy burst to revitalize a single tired bee, but shouldn't be used as an offering for all the bees.

Yes, nectar and pollen are way better for the bees than sugar water. But I don’t think they would be going after the quail feed if they were finding enough food on their own. Besides, if you want to lure them away from one food source you’ll need something equally or more enticing. Sounds like OP found a good solution though so it’s a moot point.

Bees go after all food. They're going after the quail feed, not because it's the only food, but because it's there and they think it's edible. I'm not sure it would be possible to entirely lure bees away from something, anyway- if it's food, they'll want it. The best you could do is lower the number of bees by scattering food sources all over the place to distract some of them.
