Bees!!! They are all over the scratch grain!!!

I've never heard of this before. It must be your location. I'm in NC and it's never happened to me. We don't see bees here until mid March or April.

This is happening to us in Arizonia, too! We keep bees and free-range chickens. The only thing we've been able to do is to move the feed away from where we hang out, because the bees need this during the durth, the chickens don't seem to mind it.
