My brother decided to cross breed some chickens, trying to get blue colors. He bred a Pumpkin Asil Pumpkin cross to black rooster, (I don’t know the breed) and got 14 babies, all raised by Mom. Over the summer, we got into the habit of feeding the chickens leftovers such as bread, corn, or other veggies after lunch. We have a window that is about a foot above the ground inside, but out side it’s about 3-4 feet, and we opened it and threw the food out there. One day, I was home alone, at lunch, on my phone in the kitchen waiting for my lunch water to boil. I heard a thump, and walked towards the window (it was in the direction I would of took if I was looking for something anyways) and sawnout of the corner of my eye, a chicken. On the window sill. Then another joined him. I looked out side, and saw Mom with her babies, telling them to get me to feed them. The others weren’t far behind, waiting for the window to open!

And the porch, and when its nice enough to leave the doors and windows open! They come in a make noise as if they were guinneas while you are watching TV. Sing egg songs in the house they can be a true menace. I only have hen's and can't understand how the roos I used to have are prohibited in many jurisdictions. My hens are louder than an occasional crowing rooster.

Have you seen the film 'the birds'?!

I had a bird like episode this last fall but it involved some kind of Army Moth Larvae in Texas that apparently got blown too far south for their normal range. The chicken sure developed a taste for free ranging those.

Honestly, they didn't even have to move the little caterpilars pretty much walked into their mouths.

Including an old photo of these things for entertainment purposes: the dark spots are the caterpillars zoom in!

Wow! So many caterpillars!! We have some sort of black beetle that swarms our house in the summer, and our chickens go crazy! You’ll see teen running around the yard (they are flying bugs/beetles) chasing them and jumping at them!

Yes!! They take over EVERYTHING! Places I though were safe are no longer safe!

They are brazen little monsters. It is so funny to watch a hen sneak in the door that I leave cracked to allow my cats in/out access, then start acting like she owns the place, and then noisily complain about getting chased out by the cat, whose home it rightfully is. It's unending entertainment around here.
