Beginning to think Sunshine, my rescue EE, is a roo :(

EEs have a tendancy to have rooish looking feathers, just look at the recent pictures from Arizonadesertchicks. I vote pullet.

I have had both EE's since Nov 17th, this is what Sunshine looked when we brought her/him home:

I could use a bit of good news right now... my 4 chicks that were due today quit, the eggs are dead.

Very sad day

Thanks... I can't stop crying

Mama hen has been sitting on eggs for over a month now (1st clutch wasn't viable) and it was supposed to be my 1st experience with babies.

I've never held a baby chick before...

I guess I wanted it too much!

*sigh*

In the third pic you can see the pointed saddle feathers laying down near his tail. A hens would be rounded at that area. YOu have a beautiful ROO. Maybe he carries the blue colored egg gene ! The roos determine the egg color in EE's.

Oh well, we love him anyways... our little Sunshine better not live up to his name and crow at the crack of dawn! LOL
