Blood stop powder works great on this. Torn wattles bleed something fierce and EVERY time the rooster shakes his head, they start bleeding again.
If you don't have blood stop, use flour-works almost as well to stem the blood.

Well they have stopped now, but im worried its because there tired.
How long should I wait, or how many days should I wait to see if they "settle"???
I was told they are both under a year old, they dont have spurs yet, does that mater at all???
And thank you for the wattle advice! As soon as I can catch them ill do just that.

I have dog nail stuff called quick stop? Will that work?

Ok, god I wish I had been given better advice, I knew I should have double checked with everyone on this site first.
Ill keep a good eye on them, clean them up as soon as I get a hold of them.
Oh god this is awful, i feel like a pet abusor

No way are you abusive! Don't feel like that-we've all been given bad advice about our birds a million times.
I would go ahead and pull both boys out and put them in separate cages. If you put either boy back in with the girls, they will pick on the areas of the comb/wattles that were injured.
Maybe you could try to rehome one of them if you don't have the ability to keep them apart.
YOU DID NOTHING WRONG-you were trying to rescue a bird.

Ok, im sorry for spazzing, im just a bit shaken up at the moment.
I need to catch them both at the moment and im working on that.
I only have the big coop and a bantam coop, so I cant separate them.
The one is actually being extremely submissive at the moment even to the hens.

Its a bit hard not to...I was worried to begin with and now im worse then a hen who cant get her stupid chick to come back threw the wire fence...
I have a barrel...Ill stick one in it and see if that helps, it cant hurt right?

Oh god I think I just killed my own Roopert!!!
I brought him in and cleaned him off with warm water like I was told, but I didn't think first.
The water was good for me, but i didn't let him adjust to the temperature of inside first and now hes laying down and making this gurgled scratchy noises. I think I double shocked him!
And on top of that he shows discomfort when I pick him up, is it possible he broke something???

Will he be better???
Oh and the good news is all thats wrong with him is a torn wattle, and wow those things bleed a lot.
But really, do you think he will be ok??

If all that's wrong is a torn comb, he's probably REALLY stressed from the fight and treatment. Put him somewhere in a cage where it's quiet and sorta dark.
I doubt seriously if the water put him into shock-my guess is stress. You said neither of the birds had spurs so I doubt whether he was SERIOUSLY injured.
If you have some electrolytes, put some in his water-they're good to help a stressed bird.

Oh thank god, I thought I had killed him with the water...
Its his wattle not his comb, the thing under his beak.
Ill give him some electrolights and I already put him in a crate with the heat lamp.
And yes no spurs yet, but his chest aria is definitely sore.

Definitely not the water, Unless it was ice cold I doubt it would put him into any type of shock so dont worry about that. If they had spurs the damage probly wouldve been really severe or even fatal. Hes gonna be in pain and drained of energy for maybe 2 to 3 days but they should both make a good recovery. After a few days let the submissive roo loose and hold the dominant roo in you hands in front of the other, if he (the submissive roo) opens up, theyll fight again. If he runs, take the dominant roo to his girls and let him down in the middle of them with some food so he can call his ladies to him making him feel he has won his Alpha roll.

My experiences have been that my best outcome is with brothers all penned together, or 2 roos the same age and put in the flock, and one backs down. A strange rooster on another's one's territory is not good. And once they've had a fight like that, I don't think they will ever not try to kill eachother. If by accident the roos get together, grab the garden hose and give them a good soaking to break them up.
