I recently bought half a dozen 6-7 month old pullets, and 2 cockerels, same age. I have had them a week/week and a half, and all they do for the most part is sit in the run or the coop. My other chickens that I have are all over the place, but these may not move for an hour or more. Is it because they were raised in a barn stall, and if so is it something they normally get over? Thanks

they eat and drink fine, just not outgoing at all. I hope they get over it, they are like a feathery lump on a log, lol...

any other thoughts or personal experiences on this? Chickens raised in a barn stall being reclusive and backward in an open run?

Sounds just like my new silkies i got on tuesday they were raised in a shed where they couldn't see the outside world or the sky. Here in my coop they can see all around them unless in the undercover part which is where they spend all day. Question will my new silkies come out from the undercover area soon or not?

I did do the wrong thing and put them straight in with my other chooks, There also not use to bigger chooks which i have some bigger chooks. I've had them for almost 2 days and they finally had something to drink today, I don't think they were use to a water bowl i had to dip there beaks into the water, after that they started drinking they were drinking for 5 minutes so must have been thirsty.

they seem to be coming out of it nicely, a lot more active today...one of my wifes splashs had a real big crest (silkie) and we trimmed around her eyes a little, and she is a different bird...

Great!!!
