Behaviour question

I'll keep this as straight forward as possible but its a bit convoluted.
Background; I raised 4 drakes and 1 duck (not a good ratio) they are now 10wks old. 2 weeks ago, I processed and ate 1 drake to make room for a 1 yr old duck and her mate. For reasons which include scouts honor the new drake shall not end up on the dinner plate. I would like to keep one of my original drakes and try having 3 ducks to 2 drakes.
The question; Will a drakes behavior change with less competition. The one I would like to keep, beautiful markings and seems most paired with my original duck, is also the one who is currently the most aggressive to the new comers. It's been 2 weeks and he is still giving them a nip if they get too close and using his body to push them out of the way of food and treats. If I keep just him will he eventually chill or just get worse?

All drakes are different so it can be hard to predict future behaviors. Things like size of their area, and whether they are confined can factor in. Drakes can mate a lot. You may need more hens.
