Hi all
Has anyone ever experianced this behaviour in their chickens ?
Mamma hatched 5 out of 5 fertile eggs lovely chicks a bit of a mixed bunch decided not to seperate them from the other 7 girls i have
Well all the girls are helping with raising them !!!they are all making mamma noises they are all cozying up with the babies 4 weeks old now the little ones do spend most of the time with mum but if shes busy they go to one of the others is this normal ?
Dont mind of course but it is funny

Some breeds of chickens can much more mothering than others and may have wanted chicks of there own and don't mine sharing. This doesn't happen often but it's not something new, I'm glad everyone is healthy and happy.
