I am in the process of building a new coop and am struggling with what paint to use on the inside of the coop. I have considered Amish white washing but don’t want the upkeep plus I can not find Hydrated lime anywhere locally. Then I considered milk paint but it’s pricey, not available locally and I’d need a top coat to make it durable. I really considered the ECOS pet dwellings paint but that is way out of my budget. So now I’m considering Behr Barn and fence paint. It’s cheap and says it is pet safe. Do y’all think it will be safe to use on the inside of my coop? I’ve also considered using Helmsman Spar Urethane. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
