"Hi, are you interested in a credit card?"
"Why would I be interested in that?"
"Uh, to buy stuff."
"I never bother to pay."
"Huh?"
"No, I just take it. You're not going to tell anybody, right?"
"Errr...."
"Yeah, see, here's how I do it. *Launches into a detailed and somewhat insane/unrealistic description of how one shoplifts a big screen TV*"
"Cough."
"Just kidding. No, I'm not interested."

I can't remember the actual number, but my friend told be about this...When someone asks you your number because they want to ask you out; you give them this certain one if you don't want to. It's called the Rejection Hotline, and when you call a machine says to you "Hello, you have just been rejected!".

Exactly, and you just know they aren't well paid. Might even be on commission. I won't waste their time -- I either don't answer or hang up immediately, and I'm on the do not call registry which stops most of them. Love my caller ID.

Not that I don't enjoy prank replies. I used to know someone who answered most any call with, "Joe's Pool Hall, Joe ain't here, this is Mac." Friends and family got used to his nonsense after a while. His boss was another matter.

True, ddawn. That's exactly why I only do silly answers for when friends or family call me.

I understand these are just people trying to do their job but when you say no thank you, that's when they need to stop talking and let you go instead of ticking people off trying to get them to put out money on things they don't need.
