I was really hoping to have the birds ready for the Northeastern Poultry Congress in January but I'm just not sure I'm going to have them prepared condition wise, plus the combs aren't quite where I want them on most of the birds. We do need a certain number showing to get APA acceptance but I don't think birds with DQ's count towards that total, but correct me if I'm wrong! Even if I don't bring the birds down I'll probably make my way down to the show for the experience.

Yeah, if they don’t have the right comb and they get DQ’d they don’t count I believe. However, it’s still good for people to see them, so if you have any that are close I say take ‘em! I’m showing Alfredo this weekend, he has the trifed comb but it’s an ugly comb. He also has butt fluff and his sickles are a bit long…my next show I’ll have two more with good combs and hopefully a cockerel too!

That's true! I need to do a final go over of everyone individually and weigh everyone for my records anyway so I'll probably find somebody to enter.

Alfredo was the only black Watermaal at todays show, so he got BV . But I also acquired a new Blue Quail rooster who took Reserve of Breed today so I’m super excited to see what he can make for babies!
