Hi!

We purchased 5 silkie chickens from Fabulously Feathered Silkies in Lathrop, CA to raise during shelter in place. It's been a great experience and the kids have loved it. However, our 6 month old Bella turned out to be a very loud rooster. Our neighbors are not amused and have spoken to us and contacted our HOA. Roosters are not allowed in most of the Bay Area towns... I've contacted all rescues, farms, ranches, animal shelters and the breeder, and no one is taking roosters! Any idea? Bellito is sweet to people, bossy with the hens, but a great protector of them. He starts crowing at 6:30 a.m. and crows until we put them in their coop at 8 pm. Then he's quiet all night. If you're with in an hour or so of the San Francisco bay area and have a heart for a sweet boy silkie, please let me know!

You could always try Craigslist! I had great luck with it and Silkies are a very popular breed so he may go fairly quickly. You could also try posting in your state’s thread on here or the BST section of the forum. Good luck with him!
