Benninger Hatchery: silkie+Serama hatch along!

Maybe it's their posture and weight distribution. 🤷‍♂️ Still can't get over a chicken that stands upright like a human. That has to play awful tricks on their hip joints.👨‍⚕️ Do the deformities cause issues? Is it fatal?

I have no clue. I was wondering if it was just my lines, but I heard of other people having deformities their seramas legs. I'm assuming it's because of how small they are?
I hatch out silkies and bantam crosses and they do tend to have leg issues more than other breeds. Most of the time they are easily fixed by bracing.

The deformities are not fatal with my birds. It might be different for others, but I've tried to perfect my line as much as I could. The deformities sometimes do cause problems, but usually with some extra care, they're fine. We just don't breed the one with deformities to prevent further defects down the line.
