OMG! These colors!

I will definitely be keeping my mille fleur colored silkie (the dad of these chicks) for my breeding program. All of the chicks have the correct amount of toes, beards, feathered feet, and fluffy heads. One of them also had a vault. Thankfully none have any deformities, but one of the chicks hasn't fully zipped yet. It's pipped, but making no progress. Hopefully it will make it out.

A vault is a semi-soft ball on top of their head. Usually high quality Silkies have it. Silkies with vaults tend to be more fragile as chicks. It's like a baby's soft spot.

I do want to hold them soo much!! They are so cute! I honestly don't understand people that call them weird. My neighbor for example "eww, they have extra toes!" Weird? I think not!...Dumb enough to run into the fence? Absolutely

The last good egg hatched! It's either a Buff or mille fleur color. I can't tell. It has splay leg, so hopefully it heals fine. I have it's feet tied with tape for now. I will send pictures in a little.
